Britta Jürgens introduces her latest idea: Miniloft.com –A new alternative to hotels
Miniloft apartments are generous and modern designed and offer incomparable independence in personal atmosphere. You can live in the historical centre of Berlin like a local. Your new neighbourhood are the popular Scheunenviertel with lots of galleries, bars and restaurants, the government district with its inimitable architecture, Museum Island and the new central station, Europe´s biggest and most modern train terminal. A white, grounded cement screed floor and high covers build the basis for a special atmosphere made by architects and owners. Minilofts are furnished with selected pieces and equipped with all necessary things to feel like home. The extroverted type – the generous version – is named after the 10 meter long glass front. In the introverted Minilofts the same style is additionally enriched with a warm adobe wall. The so called „classical and compact“ Minilofts are secluded in an adjacent building in the back, a reconstructed old building from the turn of century.
The building
The Miniloft building was finished in 2004 and already became an architectural icon. It was exhibited in the German Pavilion at Venice Biennale 2004, assigned with lots of prices and published in more than 40 architecture and lifestyle magazines. The house which was planned by Britta Jürgens is in Berlin, Hessische Straße 5. One made use of stainless steel of BRANDT Edelstahldach GmbH, material no. 1.4301 – the bright surface. The material thickness is 0,4mm, cutting measures are in different widths. As you can see on the pictures there is a local buckling which was whished by the architect in order to represent a special design.
The object is not just nice from its outer appearance – the interior offers fantastic perspectives, too.
